About American Traditional Mechanical
A Lexington heating and air company that answers its phone, tests before it replaces parts and explains the job in plain words.

What the name means to us
Traditional, for us, is about how a job gets done. A technician shows up when we said, listens to what the system has been doing, measures before deciding, and leaves the utility room cleaner than it was. None of that is new, and that is the point.
Mechanical work rewards patience. A furnace that short cycles might have a dirty flame sensor, a cracked pressure switch hose or an undersized return. Guessing gets expensive. Testing gets the right answer the first time, which is why our technicians carry manometers, combustion analyzers and airflow meters along with the usual gauges.
How we handle a service call
Every call to (859) 377-8167 is answered, day or night. You describe what is happening, and the person on the line tells you anything safe to check while you wait. When the technician arrives, the first step is always readings, not parts.
Once we know what failed, you hear it in plain words, see the part or the reading that proves it, and get the price before any work starts. If repair and replacement are both reasonable, you get the numbers for both and make the call yourself.

The homes and systems we work on
Lexington has a little of everything: 1920s homes with boilers near downtown, mid-century ranches with crawlspace ducts, and newer subdivisions with heat pumps and attic air handlers. We work on all of it, along with the towns and counties around the city.
We service the major equipment brands found in Kentucky homes, including Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric, plus boilers, geothermal systems and the controls that tie them together.

Who writes our Comfort Blog
Alton Gilley, our Comfort Blog Editor, writes and keeps up the articles on our Comfort Blog. The topics come straight from service calls: why a heat pump blows cool air in winter, what AUX heat means, why a house feels clammy with the AC running. If a question keeps coming up on the phone, it becomes an article.
Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Rheem and Goodman systems make up much of what we see in Lexington, alongside the other brands above.
